Design Portfolio pottery from Moorcroft takes pride of place. Never appearing with regularity, DP pots, as they are known in the Design Studio, are special for both the designers and their admirers alike.  Usually offered in small editions or with time-limited availability, Design Portfolio pieces are strongly sought after. 

Symbolic of a nation’s strength from time immemorial, the oak tree has become a lasting feature of longevity, folklore, music, art and song.  In its powerful way, it has woven that strength into most of our homes in one way or another whilst stories of Sherwood Forest pass down from generation to generation.  The oak tree brings the past into the present and pulls the present into the future.  Moorcroft designer, Vicky Lovatt, seized her opportunity and crafted Oaktree, a structured design in an amazingly contemporary Florian style worthy indeed of Moorcroft’s founding father, William, but with colours as soft, gentle and autumnal as befits the twenty first century.  The tree branches reach upwards in an embracing loop to grasp a pair of oak apples complete with cups before swinging away around the rim of the vase with more oak apples and simple leaves.  Oaktree is Moorcroft art at its very best.
